Small jobs — a room of painting, a drywall repair — usually within a week. Larger projects like a full interior repaint or a bathroom remodel typically start two to three weeks out. If you have a hard deadline, tell us during the estimate and we will tell you honestly whether we can hit it.
California law caps a residential contractor's down payment at $1,000 or 10% of the contract price, whichever is less. We do not ask for more than that, and neither should anyone else. Progress payments follow completed phases of work.
Yes, where the work needs them. Cosmetic painting, flooring and like-for-like fence replacement generally do not. Moving plumbing or electrical, structural changes and taller fences usually do. We pull the permit, schedule the inspections and hand you the signed-off paperwork at the end.
Three years on workmanship across all our trades, on top of whatever the manufacturer warrants on materials — which on roof coatings is 10 years. If something we did fails inside that window, we come back and fix it.
For almost everything, yes. We use low-VOC paints, seal work areas with plastic and zip doors, sand with HEPA vacuum sanders and finish one area before opening up the next. The exceptions are a kitchen remodel, where you will be without a kitchen, and whole-home floor refinishing.
