Drywall Installation, Plastering & Repair
Invisible patches, flat walls, and texture that actually matches the room

Drywall is the trade where corner-cutting shows up most obviously. An underfilled joint telegraphs through paint the first time afternoon light hits it sideways. A texture patch sprayed at the wrong pressure looks like a scar on the wall forever. We finish drywall the slow way because the slow way is the only way it disappears.
We hang and finish new drywall for additions, garage conversions and remodels, repair water damage and settlement cracks, strip dated popcorn and knockdown texture, and skim walls flat to a Level 5 finish when a client wants that smooth, gallery-like surface.
Texture matching is the part people underestimate. Orange peel, knockdown, skip trowel, smooth — we match what is already on your wall so a repair reads as wall, not as repair. If a room has been patched badly before, we will tell you honestly whether patching again is worth it or whether skimming the whole wall costs less in the end.

How it runs
Our drywall & plastering process
- 1
Assess the cause
Before patching anything we work out why it failed. A recurring ceiling crack usually means movement, and a stain means water. Patching without fixing the cause just buys you six months.
- 2
Cut back and rebuild
Damaged board comes out back to solid framing, gets backed and replaced with matching thickness. New work gets hung, screwed to spec and corner-beaded.
- 3
Tape and three coats
Tape, fill, finish — three separate coats with drying time between each. Sanding is done with a HEPA vacuum sander so the rest of your house stays clean.
- 4
Texture and prime
We match your existing texture by hand, prime the repair so it will not flash through the paint, and hand it over ready for colour — or paint it ourselves if that is part of the job.
“The last contractor filled our Craftsman's cracks with joint compound and they were back within a year. Fresh Build re-keyed the plaster to the lath properly. Completely different result.”

FAQ
Drywall & Plastering questions
The things people ask before they book. If yours is not here, call and ask it.
A single small patch — doorknob hole, a few cracks — runs $275–$450. A full sheet of water damage with texture matching is typically $600–$1,200. Hanging and finishing new drywall runs about $3.40 per square foot, so a standard 12x14 room with ceiling lands around $2,200–$3,000.
Yes, and it is the part of the job we care most about. Orange peel, knockdown, skip trowel and smooth are all done by hand on site, matched to the wall beside the repair rather than sprayed to a generic setting. If your texture is unusual we will do a test patch first and get your approval before finishing.
Yes. We scrape, skim and refinish to a smooth or lightly textured surface. One thing worth knowing: popcorn ceilings installed before 1980 in California may contain asbestos, so we always recommend a $75–$150 test first. If it comes back positive, removal has to go to a licensed abatement contractor — we will not touch it, and we will tell you rather than quietly scraping it.
Joint compound needs to cure fully or the paint will flash. Small patches are paintable the next day. Full skim coats need 24–48 hours depending on humidity. We prime everything ourselves so you are never guessing.
Far less than you expect. We seal the work area with plastic and zip doors, and sand with a HEPA vacuum sander that pulls the dust at the source instead of letting it settle across your house.
